White – Provided

Cut: 1 rectangle 1 ½˝ x 10 ˝ 1 rectangle 1 ½” x 10.5 “

Layer Cake 10 x 10 – provided

Step 1: Cut layer cake 2 ½ inches from the left hand side

Step 2: Sew White 1 ½ “ x 10” rectangle to the 2.5”x10 strip created in Step 1, press to the dark side

Step 3: Sew remaining 7 ½” x 10” rectangle (remainder from cutting the layer cake) to the unit created in Step 2; press to the dark Your unit will now measure 10.5 x 10 inches

Step 4: Rotate the block so that the white strip is on the bottom. Make a cut 2 ½ inches from the left hand side – see diagram

Step 5: Sew White 1 ½ “ x 10.5” rectangle to the 2.5” x 10.5” strip created in step 4

Step 6: Sew remaining 7.5” x 10.5” rectangle (remainder from cutting in step 4) to the unit created in Step 5

Your unit will measure 10.5 inches square
