Fall Rectangles (Make 2 Blocks )

Oct 2015

From your Stash

30” 2.5”  black fabric (reads as black)

30” x 2.5” fall fabric  (can be a print or tone on tone, solid etc)

 

Cutting

Black Fabric cut

cut 8.5” x 2.5”  strip

cut 2 8.5” x 2.5” strips

cut 2 6.5” 2.5” strips

Fall Fabric

cut 8.5” x 2.5” strip

cut 2 8.5” x 2.5” strips

cut 2 6.5” 2.5” strips

 

Construction  Block 1

Using fall fabric

Sew together the Fall fabric  8.5” x 2.5” strip to Black 8.5”x2.5” strip

Sew remaining fall fabric 8.5” x 2.5” strip  to the other side of the black strip  (see diagram)

Piece will now measure 8.5”x 6.5”

Sew fall fabric (6.5” x 2.5” fabric across the top   ( see diagram)

Sew fall fabric  6.5” x 2.5” fabric across the bottom  (see diagram)

Block 2  is made the same way using the remaining fall fabric for the center and the black fabric for the outer strips

Trim finished blocks to finish at 12.5”  x  6.5” rectangle
