String Block (July & August Block)

Cream Fabric Provided

7×7 inch paper foundation provided

Strings from your stash — Cut strips 1.25 to 2 inches wide will need approx. 10 strips —

Medium/Dark Prints

Step 1: Place Cream Strip provided down the Diagonal Center of the foundation Paper right side facing up, use pins or even glue down using a glue stick

Reduce your stitch length this will make it easier when you remove the foundation from the back of the block

We will use the flip and sew method to construct this block.

Step 2: Using your first strip place right sides together to the cream center and stitch using ¼ seam allowance. Don’t worry about the strip being added being the right length you want the strip to be longer than the foundation

Repeat Step 2 until the entire foundation is covered,

Step 3: Once the foundation is completely covered; turn over the block and trim along the paper foundation.

Step 4: Once this is trimmed sew around the entire foundation using 1/8 of an inch (stay stitch).

Step 5: Remove the Foundation from the back of the Block
