March 2014 Block Party Pattern

This month we add a flowered frame to an appliqued or embroidered block.

• On a white fabric square larger than 7 1/2 inches, applique or embroider a flower that coordinates with the blue flowered fabric. You can do the work by either hand or machine.
• Square up the white block to 7 1/2 inches.
• Cut two (2) 7 1/2 X 3 inch rectangles and two (2) 12 1/2 X 3 inch rectangles from the blue flowered fabric provided by Block Party, following the diagram below. Pay close attention to the placement of the rectangles since I don’t have any fabric left.
• Place the frame pieces like the diagram below.
• Sew the blocks together with a 1/4 inch seam for a block measuring 12 1/2 inches.
• Please do not square up your block. Turn in your block and your name on a small piece of paper in at the April meeting for the drawing. Good Luck!!
